We are doing the London to Brighton Off-Road Cycle ride on the 20th September 2014 in memory of a good friend Sam Jenner who passed away from a long battle with Cystic Fibrosis in 2012.

Sam was a strong and always positive guy who never let cystic fibrosis get him down. He was always thinking of the future and would never let his illness stop him from living his life as he wanted to. He proved to us all it doesn't matter what life throws at you, you can still live your life to the full and be happy.

Cystic fibrosis is a life-shortening inherited disease, affecting over 10,000 people in the UK. You can't catch or develop cystic fibrosis, it's something you're born with and most cases in the UK are now diagnosed soon after birth. Cystic fibrosis is an inherited disease caused by a faulty gene. This gene controls the movement of salt and water in and out of your cells, so the lungs and digestive system become clogged with mucus, making it hard to breathe and digest food.

There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis but many treatments are available to manage it, including physiotherapy, exercise, medication and nutrition. Each week five babies are born with cystic fibrosis, and two people die.

We are raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust who are the only UK-wide charity making a daily difference to the lives of people with cystic fibrosis, and those who care for them. They dedicate themselves to promoting excellence in research and clinical care, as well as providing practical support and advice to people with cystic fibrosis and their families.
