Story
I am a 41year old Army veteran from York, I loved my job in the Royal Logistics Corps as
a Postal Courier, in 2012 I was devastated when a freak accident while
stationed in Germany left me with a broken back and in a wheelchair with limited mobility. But I refused to give up and it didn't stop me, I fractured my L5 vertebra and it's been replaced with a prosthetic lower spine. As I am unable to ride a normal road bike I will be taking part using a Recumbent trike and this will be my third bike ride for Help For Heroes.
In June
this year I took part in the Big Battlefield Bike Ride from Verdun to Ypres, which
involved cycling over 350 miles over 5 days.
“After taking part in my first BBBR I loved it that much I am taking part in next year’s BBBR Hero Ride event Going from Lille to Arnhem 350 miles in 5 days. But When I look back to getting my injury I never thought I’d be on a bike”, Never mind taking part in my third cycling challenge.
I would like to say thank you for taking the time to have a look at my page. With your donation no matter how big or small it will make a difference not only to men and women still serving but to veterans as well just like it helped me.
