Help us preserve the Jupiter Ace collection, 12 May 2014
We preserve artefacts of computing history to explore its huge impact on all our lives

Story

The iconic Jupiter Ace computer that was developed in Cambridge has a great story behind it. Developed by ex-Sinclair employees, the computer used FORTH as its language of choice but sadly was a commercial failure.

** Update **
We have very generously been donated an additional £1000 via CAF to go towards this campaign. This will not show in the goal here. Thank you to everyone that has donated so far. We really appreciate it.

The entire company collection is being sold on eBay and includes original documentation, software and even the rights to the brand.

We are trying to raise the money to purchase and preserve the collection at the Cambridge Centre for Computing History where it belongs.

But we need your help. We need to raise £10k to be able to make a bid for it. If we are unsuccessful we will ring fence the funds for a future exhibit purchase.

We are unable to set-up this appeal on Kickstarter as it does not support charities. Not only that but doing it through Just Giving will give us an extra 25% via Gift Aid.

Please help us preserve this important Cambridge history.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
