Last year my Grandson Jake and I finally both managed to secure places in the 2020 London Marathon - Jake's 1st and my 8th Marathon and we were looking forward to achieving our goal of Grandma & Grandson competing together.   2020 however has not been as we planned - our training for April was going great when COVID-19 stepped in and the Marathon was delayed until 4th October.   We trained up again only to hear a few weeks ago that it had been postponed until October 2021.   However, all is not lost for our charities, and London said we could go ahead on the 4th October by running our own local Marathon.  Guess who got the short straw of running around the hills of Saddleworth whilst the younger of the two gets the flat streets of London paved with gold?  The main point is that our charities will not miss out - Jake is running for MIND and I am supporting MAGGIE'S Oldham.  If you have already sponsored me for the April Marathon then rest assured the money donated will have gone/be going to Maggie's - for which I thank you and donations can still be made on my justgiving page for anyone else wishing to support us.   Thanks you xx
