Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Last year one my friend died of a heart failure (Sudden Adult Death Syndrome) at the age of 32.
It can be hard to believe that a young person who appears fit and healthy can be at risk of heart problems. However every week in the UK at least 12 young people aged 35 or under die from undiagnosed heart conditions.
Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) aims to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practise and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of the young.
In memory of Greg, and to raise awareness of this terrible syndrome, I will be running the London Marathon on 22 April.
If you wish to support the work of CRY and encourage me in this challenge donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. The money is directly transferred to the charity and Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
Please feel free to come and see me if you want more information on SADS and the support and screenings available.
Your involvement, however small, is crucial to helping raise awareness about the risk of sudden cardiac death in young people.
Many thanks in advance, and I hope to see you on Sunday 22 April in the streets of London.
