Story

About a month ago I found a lump and after having it checked out, I was diagnosed with breast cancer last week. I am starting 4 months of chemotherapy later today (Tuesday).

Obviously this is fairly shocking news but we think it's been caught early (having scans to check this) and the outlook is positive.

So rather than let my hair fall off, I thought I would shave it instead and maybe raise some money for 2 charities in the process. I also hope to donate the hair to a charity that makes wigs for children, if I have enough hair to give.

This page is collecting donations for a local charity called The Helen Rollason Cancer Charity which I have not yet accessed but they provide free complimentary therapies including reflexology (to help with chemo nausea), massage, and a face to face support group. If you would like to donate to this one, click the blue "Donate" button above.

The other charity is Breast Cancer Care who were the first organisation we received help from in the form of information booklets and support forums so I can meet others online who share my predicament and give each other support. If you would like to donate to them please do so using this link.

Please don't feel you have to give or have to give a lot - this just allows me to feel more in control of what is happening (and we all know I am a control freak!).

Giving on this site is secure (and Gift Aid is added, if you are a taxpayer) but if you are worried about putting your card details in online then email/text me and we can sort something else out.
