I'm taking part in the Pier to Pier walk on Sunday 27th March 2011 to raise money for St Helena Hospice. My friend Julie has kindly agreed to keep me company on the walk. We will be walking (and no doubt talking!) the 7 miles between Clacton and Walton Pier.

It's not until you or your family need to use St Helena Hospice that you realise how much they do. My Dad is currently receiving day care at the Clacton centre once a week and can't speak highly enough of the care and help he receives.

I am however mainly doing this walk in memory of my good friend Jane who passed away at the hospice in September 2009. She was a true friend and helped and supported me through my cancer treatment in 2008, something she had experienced herself a few years before.
