Story

The day before we go, I am to say the least a lot scared & excited by this whole experience.   I can't wait till Sunday when it's over mind 68 miles that's a long way & now it's apparently going to be a wet one, oh well I'll dry.   Catch up after the event.  Well we 3 days from the BIG WALK -  scared & excited all at the same time.     Wow Friday 10th we trained for 12 hours mid-day to gone midnight, we were both amazed at how far we walked & shattered didn't even cover it but we did it, we have two & half weeks left now before the big challenge, feeling more confident now :-).      9.4.15 on Monday th 6th mmmm hard day mentally & physically I just wasn't there, managed 4 out of the 7 hours suggested for training.  Battling with my head to get back in the "zone" I have had physio, visited the gym & hopefully no back on track to get the 12 hours done tomorrow that I need to get done ( I WILL).    29.3.15 Yesterday we completed week 7 Anne & I went on 6 hours of walking 17 miles done in not the best conditions weather wise, splitting the walk into 2 parts, a quick 1.45 minutes around where I live as I had family commitments I had to fit in, but then onto Croyde walking to Baggy Point to Putsborough Beach & up the sand bank (hard work after 4 hours!!) & back upto Croyde.  We got drenched on the first walk & wind blown on the second.      To say I'm struggling is a bit of an understatement but ever determined here is to Week 8.

We have been training since 9th February & slowly we are building up are strength & endurance to complete this challenge.

Always we train 3 times a week either in the gym or a class doing aerobic, interval training,  swimming or if not able to get to the gym a little regime at home but always something followed at the weekend by a walk.

Weeks 1 & 2 we had a 2 hour walk, week 3 - 2.5 hours, week 4 - 3 hours, week 5 - 4 hours, now at this point I thought this is really getting hard now & when it came to week 6 & we had a 5 hour & a 2.5 hour walk to fit into our weekend I really didn't think I was going to be able to do it but somewhere we managed the whole 7.5 hour walk in one day - we went miles over our beautiful countryside (so lucky with weather that day too) & then onto week 7 (no so lucky with the weather this week) & a 6 hour walk done.

Each week I am amazed at how far & well we have walked, but still the 68 miles & only 33 hours to complete it seems a very tall ask at this stage, time will tell but I am giving it my all & absolute best shot.

We have already had a lot of money donated to us & very grateful for every penny, if you are reading this you can be rest assured that all money is going to a really worthy cause give generously & a massive thank you from the Hospice but especially from us.
