Story
My Mum and Nick will be taking part in the Walk of Hope this year to raise money on Matt’s behalf for this vital charity. They will be completing their walk on Saturday 25th September, location not set in stone but likely to be somewhere in Bedfordshire and I will post some updates about their walk once completed. Matt and I completed it last year but unfortunately he’s not feeling up to it this year, as many of you will know. My Mum also lost a good friend earlier this year to a brain tumour, a very short time after her diagnosis.
This charity is close to our hearts following Matt’s diagnosis with a brain tumour in 2018. The tumour and subsequent surgery has left him with life changing conditions including Epilepsy and Sight Impairment, not to mention the huge impact it has trying to deal with such a diagnosis for both him and all of us. Brain tumour research is hugely underfunded and the statistics are shocking. We have tried our best to support this Charity since we were touched by its cause. We have always received so much support from family, friends and our local community and we hope you would like to support us and my Mum and Nick by donating for their Walk of Hope. We would be so grateful for a donation towards this much needed charity, however big or small.
We are stepping forward to take part in the Brain Tumour Research Walk of Hope. Please support or join us and thousands around the country walking for a cure by raising vital funds for research. Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this! It is the only national charity in the UK focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours through campaigning to increase the national investment in brain tumour research to £35 million per year, while fundraising to create a network of seven sustainable Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence across the UK.
