In October 16 I was Diagnosed with ovarian cancer and underwent major abdominal surgery and later chemotherapy. It was a long and slow recovery, and an emotional roller coaster. One year later and I feel the need to do something good out of something that was so awful. I enjoy rowing in the gym and have decided to challenge myself to a London to Glasgow row. Its a journey I know well, having married a Scotsman! It's 346 miles as the crow flies and I'm hoping to complete my effort by my 50th birthday. At the start I will be able to manage about 20 minutes a night, a couple of nights a week but hope to increase this dramatically as I compete against myself. Realistically I'm thinking 20 miles a week at my peak, so should take about 20 weeks (with xmas & new year breaks) and will definitely be done before my 50th birthday looming in April. I am rowing for Target Ovarian Cancer. It's a difficult cancer to diagnose and we woman just plod on with symptoms that seem so minor but in reality are very sinister and deadly. A lot of research is being done and if I can help in raising funds and awareness I will be one happy lady. I appreciate  your financial & emotional support whilst helping me boost my own health and raise awareness and funds for a cancer that is deadly! I have a daughter...enough said x
