Story
Hi all, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, especially those of you I haven't been in touch with for a while.
Amazingly, I've now run the London Royal Parks Half Marathon in a time of 2 hours 18 minutes - not quite as quick as I was hoping but not bad, and it was certainly a fantastic feeling to see the finish line! The atmosphere was really great on the day, loads of people watching and cheering and it was great to meet up with Julia and family and Jill afterwards. After a couple of days of putting my feet up, I think I've just about recovered!
Many thanks to everyone who has already sponsored me, I'm getting quite close to my target of £500. If anyone else would like to chip in that would be great, I know a few of you have said you will. This page will be open for another three months and Great Ormond Street is still a great cause well worth supporting.
I picked GOSH to run for because my fantastic little nephew Jack has to go there every year to see specialists about a facial condition. All the staff are great, endlessly patient and cheerful, there are toys everywhere and everything is done to make the experience as fun as possible. However, hours of sitting around various waiting rooms and walking along corridors which seem to be in a constant state of renovation really brings it home how much it takes to keep somewhere like GOSH going.
