Story

I have been lucky enough to be chosen to appear on the plinth in Trafalgar Square, London as part of the Antony Gormley project entitled "One & Other" which is his latest attempt to test the disticnction between what we look like and who we are and allows the participants total freedom of self-representation.

I will be reading Dr Seuss books, including my favourite, The Cat in the Hat. My brother and I used to read these books to each other when we were growing up and the stories always bring back good memories for me.

My brother has Huntington's Disease, which is a hereditary neurological disorder of the central nervous system. He lives with his wife and son who look after him with much love and care.

Huntington's Disease Association is a registered charity supporting people affected and providing information for families, and healthcare.

I received medical confirmation that I am unaffected by this disease two years ago. This news has brought huge relief for myself and my family, but I want to make some sort of contribution to provide some help, and fundraising seems a sensible way forward.

Please give generously to this worthy cause. The event will be broadcast live on the event website and on television via Sky Arts' documentary and its series of news programmes. So tune in and hear me read out loud!
