Story
I started out planning just to run the BUPA Great Manchester 10k in aid of the Alzeimer's Society but then a friend suggested bite size chunks to make up the marathon distance.
A marathon = 26 miles and 385 yards... I'm going to make the distance up by combining:
20/05/12 Great Manchester Run 10k
Well, I completed this in 1hour 21 min 10. Urgh! Changed the races about a bit, put in another 70 miles of training and went for it with my second race of the chunky challenge!
24/06/12 I *heart* Manchester 10k
This time no walking breaks so massive progress! 1 hour 18 minutes 45 sec. Going in the right direction... and I was not last!
The next part of the chunky challenge is a trail race!
11/8/12 Run the Flash 10k (at Pennington Flash)
Then on 9/9/12 City of Salford 10k
That takes it to 40 km, 2.195 km short of a marathon... I never was much good at maths! To round it all off in style I'm finishing off with a half:
18/11/12 Conwy Half Marathon
