In November 2021, Rosie was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Her life was placed on hold and that was incredibly difficult at the age of 27, a time when she would usually expect to be concentrating on her career and relationships.

Rosie completed treatment and was finally in remission in March 2023. Now comes the job of re-starting her life again, and that is where Shine comes in! They have been a constant source of support, friendship and guidance both during and after Rosie's cancer journey, and we are proud to run for them.

Shine want every adult in their 20s, 30s and 40s who is diagnosed with cancer to know they’re not alone, and to have the support, knowledge, and confidence to navigate whatever cancer throws their way.

On September 10th, Laura, Ed and Julie will run the Great North Run. Thirteen miles from Newcastle to South Shields, a hilly course!!
