As a local novelist, I'm proud to be a Patron of Berkshire literacy charity ABC to Read, and I'm running to raise money for the wonderful work they do in schools, teaching the joy of reading to children.

In 2014 ABC to Read was awarded the prestigious Queen's Award for Voluntary Service and they are an amazing group of volunteers and charity workers who are passionate about the importance of reading and books. 

I'm much better and reading and writing than running, but I'm giving it a shot and very much hope that I won't collapse in a heap of sweat and ignominy somewhere around Kendrick Road. Thank you for supporting me as I'm running for reading in Reading!
