Story
Most of us take for granted the warm comfortable beds and crisp linen we sleep securely in every night, however for hundreds of less fortunate people, having neither a roof over their head or a comfortable bed each night is a very different experience.
The West London Churches Homeless Concern operate night shelters through the winter months from November to April in Churches across Kensington and Chelsea and Hammersmith and Fulham. Last year WLCHC provided shelter, food and support to up to 100 of the capital's most vulnerable people every night. We are aiming to raise £100,000 to ensure this work can continue in the coming winter. WLCHC relieves poverty among the street homeless people in West London by providing accomodation within Churches of all demonimations.
This Friday after I finish work, I will be sleeping rough on the streets of London with no money or keys to my home to experience a night in the life of a homeless person. I would like to ask you all to sponsor my sleepout to help WLCHC and their fantastic work. Of course if you don't want to sponsor me, you are welcome to join me! You might want to bring a cardboard box!
