Forward UK charity works towards ending the practice of FGM (female genital mutilation) and child and forced marriage. FGM represents an extreme form of child abuse - it is nearly always carried out on minors - an abhorrent practice that too many have been quiet about for much too long. More than 125 million girls and woman alive today have been affected by this practice.
