Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
As you are probably aware our daughter Beth was diagnosed with nystagmus (involuntary movement of the eyes) at 3 months old. This is caused by a rare genetic condition and has led to her being registered as partially sighted. Due to this, Beth has additional challenges to face on a daily basis and all of our lives are very busy with hospital and educational appointments and work to help Beth develop to the best of her potential. It is a continuing challenge for all of us which proves to be stressful and rewarding in equal measure.
Not a day goes past when we don't give thanks for our beautiful, happy-go-lucky little girl, but likewise not a day goes past when we don't need to take her nystagmus and its cause into consideration in some way.
From the moment of Beth's diagnosis we have had great support and guidance from the Nystagmus Network (a UK charity for people with nystagmus and their families) and all proceeds from our walk will be going to assist their vital work.
As most of you know, Jules is fairly slim and Mitch is not! So for Mitch, this walk is probably the equivalent of trekking to the North Pole and back. Let's be honest, we all know this is going to be 15 miles of Mitch moaning and giving Jules a monumental headache, but we're both up for the challenge!!
