Story
The Juice Walking Group at the University of Sheffield is supporting the Sheffield Scanner campaign through this Just Giving page.
For over 2 years now Juice have offered a lunchtime walking group once a fortnight, taking a number of different routes from the University campus to various destinations such as the Botanical Gardens or the different parts of the city centre. As well as the health benefits of walking during our working day, we also enjoy the social aspect of meeting new people from across the University.
Why are we doing this?
We are raising funds towards the University’s £2 million fundraising campaign for the Sheffield Scanner - a ground-breaking MRI-PET scanner
facility, and the first of its kind in Yorkshire. The Sheffield Scanner will represent the next leap forward
in medical and imaging research and have a crucial role for research and patients in many areas of medicine, including cancer, neurodegenerative
diseases such as Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s, heart disease, diabetes and stroke.
Further information about the Sheffield Scanner can be found at www.sheffield.ac.uk/sheffieldscanner
So please donate to this fantastic cause which will have a terrific impact for everyone in Sheffield, South Yorkshire and beyond.
