Judy's Story

Judy Bichon is 12.5 years old and blind. She has been under the care of Greenacres Rescue since November 2016. Sadly, her owner had passed away and she found herself homeless along with Lucy (who has since gone to The Bridge). Greenacres stepped up to help the bonded pair even though there were ongoing, longterm medical conditions.

The girls were put on the Longterm Foster Scheme which means Greenacres stays financially responsible for all the medical costs of the dogs but they live permanently with their foster parents as their dogs.

Judy had very advanced cataracts in both eyes (investigated by vets and eye specialists prior to foster placement). In 2019, spontaneous corneal ulcers started to appear in her right eye. The condition was treated but it was agreed that the best course of action was to remove the eye. This was done in March 2019 and Judy made a quick recovery.

Unfortunately, the same has happened in her left eye and it needs to be removed. 

As Judy's Foster Mummy, I really want to try and raise the money for her surgery. The surgery is booked for 15th February 2021. Can you help me to help this amazing rescue in these unprecedented times?

I know times are hard for everyone but the animals still need us.
