Salisbury Hospicecare Trust - Midnight Walk · 4 June 2011 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Steph and I met when we were 3 years old, we went to school together and shared several holidays. We spent endless hours chatting over a cup of tea. Steph was my bridesmaid and I returned the favour for her. Our daughters were born within a year of each other and we delighted in them and our lives and looked forward to our futures.
Breast cancer doesn't take account of how healthy, fit, beautiful, talented or 'lovely' you are, and that is the stark fact that faced Steph and Rich. After a long 8 years, during which I was continually in awe with how they both faced up to and 'lived' with cancer, Steph passed away in February this year. She spent her final days in Salisbury Hospice and it was an honour to visit her there and enjoy her company in relaxed, attractive and caring circumstances. It was some comfort to know that she, and her family, were compassionately and humanly supported through the most difficult of times.
I'm doing the Midnight Walk with Rich, her husband, and Elaine, her very good friend, to support the fantastic work that the Hospice does, in Steph's memory.
I hope you'll feel able to dig deep and donate now.
