Story
As some of you know, I took up running this summer and have even enjoyed it, most of the time! Now that I feel ok doing 5k, I am going to attempt my first 10k in November to raise funds for SRMRT. I'll be doing it in Dalby Forest on 15th. I hope it's windy because I do my best running in the wind (and not just because it might be behind me sometimes).
SRMRT have remained operational throughout the pandemic in their support of blue light services. But SRMRT is not a funded service and relies solely on fundraising, donations and sponsorship to cover all their running costs, which have been added to this year because of the need to make changes to their base in order to decontaminate kit after every callout and the purchase of additional equipment and medical supplies.
All their challenge and fundraising events which bring in a substantial proportion of their necessary income have had to be cancelled this year, so I'm just doing my bit to help support the team (even if I am already doing that by virtue of being married to the current chair!).
