Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit Judith and Amena's JustGiving page.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. Your details are safe. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to ActionAid. They are restricted to the projects below.
Happy Homes is a home for abandoned girls. Child spaces are where children learn to read and write to get a place in school. Click on the last image in the gallery below its a really short film about Happy Homes and why they need your support.
About the child spaces - in February we got a letter from Farah Kabir, Country Director of ActionAid Bangladesh saying"because of over crowding in Sutrapur and Gabitoli Cleaners colony, slum areas of Dhaka, the Government is forcibly evicting families. About 2000 families lost their homes, businesses, schools, shops, water supplies and sanitation facilities. ActionAid lost four of it's child spaces. 291 sponsored children and their families were directly affected".
Sometimes you can't know and do nothing, so we are doing something. So are the people listed below. All have already committed to help:
Jess North and Leanne Rowlands jumped from a plane on a static line on 26th September.
Amena ran the Indian Queens Half Marathon (Cornwall) on 2nd August and did and is doing more fundraising dinners.
Beyond Limits, Carls Small Sparks and lots of people did a coffee morning & bring and buy.
Gloucestershire Voices ran a cheese and wine and Sari Challenge.
Jo Hogg and Mayhem (29th August), Charity Night in Axminster.
There are also some of you donating directly & others we have missed. Thanks to Annie Burt and her family & friends too. Annie was planning to travel but was unable to in the end.
