Run for Rise - Brighton Half Marathon 2013 · 17 February 2013 ·

RISE is a Sussex domestic abuse charity providing vital support, refuge accommodation; helpline and counselling, financial and legal advice, children's services and training. Every penny raised goes to help the most vulnerable families in our community to live in safety.

Story

On 17 February I will be running my first half marathon in Brighton supporting a charity, RISE, founded to help women, children and young people affected by domestic abuse.

As well as crisis accomodattion in two refuges, Rises also offers crisis appoinments, housing, legal and financial advice, solicitor's appoinments or supports groups. It costs over £3100 every day to keep these vital, life saving services available for local families, so every penny you can spare will help keep safe some of the most vulnerable.

From my experience, running is a 'mental thing', which it has been helping me a lot lately, challenging myself. Furthermore, now it could become in a factual thing through RISE. So, give me a hand with this cause.

Thank for your time,

Juan
