Story
I virtually lost the use of my legs last summer after a stint in hospital when I was suffering from sepsis. Since then, with several set-backs, I've been slowly improving in my general health but I'm still struggling to stand for any length of time.
This challenge is for me to do 100 stand ups for a minimum standing time of 10 seconds each before my 100th birthday on June 2nd, 2020. It may not seem much to most people but, believe you me, hauling myself up out of the chair is a huge struggle every time! The photo above was taken when I joined the Land Army as a 21year old in 1941 - the challenge would have been easy for me ,too, in those days!
I want to support Herriot Hospice Homecare as a thank you to them for the wonderful support they gave my son, Gill, and his family last year. I want to raise money to help the charity support other individuals and families in similar circumstances. I only wish I could do more. Please give generously.
