Story
On Sunday 12th of May, I will be running the Leeds Half Marathon!
If I have ever had a conversation with you about running, you will be aware that I would definitely not class myself as a runner... As much as I love being active, and can’t imagine my life without doing so, running has never been the thing for me...
However, I have decided to take on the challenge of completing the Leeds Half Marathon for SameYou Charity!
SameYou are a new charity, dedicated to increasing rehabilitation services for young adults after brain injury and stroke.
Having family members on all sides of my family who have suffered from strokes, and seeing the debilitating effects that it can have on the body and mind, this is an area very close to my heart.
SameYou are assisting in research into developments in this area, and are working alongside Stroke Association to find and develop new ways to help in the recovery of those suffering the effects of brain damage and strokes.
As a 21 year old in the middle of a physical demanding degree, the idea of suffering from brain injury or stroke is unimaginable, yet for so many young people out there this is their reality...
And this is why I couldn’t think of a more wonderful charity to support!!
Please help support my efforts to fundraise for SameYou, to raise money for an incredible and much needed cause, and motivate me to get through all 13.1 miles!!
Thank You x
