Story
Below is a short outline of why we are trying to raise money for Joshua and the Starlight charity. I hope you will help us achieve our target and make dreams come true. The story below is wrtitten by Beverley, Joshua's Mum.
This is my son, Joshua's story. It was the end of November 2010 and we received the devastating news that Joshua had a brain tumour which was taking his sight. I cannot put into words how we felt but I knew our world was turning upside down - our beloved little boy, so ill so quickly. We have had some very rough and disturbing times, but Joshua has shone through. Anyone who knows him I am sure will agree that he has been amazing and I am so very, very proud of him. On a positive side, Joshua's treatment ends next June 2012 and his sight has been saved and he continues to do well.
Joshua is just six year's old – his life shouldn't revolve around hospitals. For any child it should be full of laughter and play and stories and magic. Which is why I wrote to Starlight Children's Foundation, requesting a wish for Joshua. Starlight is a charity which grants wishes for seriously ill children. I wanted Joshua to have something to look forward to after his treatment. I didn't want him to have horrid memories, just happy ones. Without question, without hesitation, Starlight granted Joshua his wish to meet Father Christmas in Lapland – we go December 2012.
