Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this. 

My name is Josh Michaels and I am a front-line doctor working for Barts Health NHS Trust in the fight against COVID-19. 

Before being redeployed, I was a surgical trainee however, since the outbreak of coronavirus across the UK, I have given up my role as a surgeon and volunteered my services where I am most needed - caring and treating the most vulnerable patients in our country. 

This appeal is a plea to all those that have asked to or thought about helping our cause. 

I have spent almost 5 years at this NHS Trust, first as a medical student and now as a doctor. It is incredibly humbling to be working amongst some of the finest healthcare professionals our NHS has to offer, in a hospital which provides treatment that is second to none. 

We as a trust are home to one of the largest trauma centres in the UK, care for over 2.6 million people and account for 1.5% of all hospital activity across the country. Today, we are now taking on the responsibility of one of the largest hospitals in the UK - The Nightingale Hospital.

I kindly ask that you offer a donation however large or small to help provide our hospital, staff and patients the vital equipment and support we need in our efforts against COVID-19.
