Our dear friends Sonya & Simon's youngest child James has been diagnosed with Autism a complex lifelong disability with wide ranging symptoms with no known proven cure. http://www.autism.org.uk/about-autism/autism-and-asperger-syndrome-an-introduction.aspx

Conquer and Learn is a registered charity that seeks to help young children with ASD and other related conditions. C&L aims to support the early intervention centre that James has been attending for therapy over the past year. Funding for this is extremely costly and there is insufficient support available from the government and private healthcare does not cover ANY of his treatment. James needs as much weekly intense therapy as possible as up until the age of 4 the brain is most receptive. 
James's treatment has therefore recently been increased as with less than a year until his fourth birthday, Sonya and Simon wish to gain the maximum benefit from the early intervention programme developed for him.

Sonya and Simon have already begun to notice some improvements and although progress is slow everyone is  hoping and praying that James continues to progress. With this treatment James has a greater opportunity to lead a relatively “normal life”, although realistically it is too early to say what the future holds for him. 

They have planned 2 family and friends 10K sponsorship runs in Regents Park on Sunday 5^th July and 26 July (Joshua is taking part in the latter).  Sonya and Sinon have been assured that the monies raised will be for James’s treatment and they will also be making a donation to Conquer and Learn to benefit not only James but other children that attend the early intervention centre.
