Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have signed up to run the marathon for The Royal Free Hospital Charity to help raise money to provide the little touches that make a big difference on the Galaxy Children's ward of the Barnet Hospital
At the Royal Free London, the staff place the needs of children and their families at the heart of everything they do. Providing children with the care they need, when they need it, in the most appropriate place – at home, in the community, or in hospital.
Every child is different and the hospital aims to meet the child's physical, emotional, psychological, social and educational needs. As well as medical care, children in hospital deserve to have a level of comfort that will improve their wellbeing and speed up the recovery process. Really simple things; essential toiletries like toothbrushes for children admitted from A&E who have nothing with them, a Wii game to act as a distraction from the injections and procedures that they have to go through on a daily basis.
Children's services, or paediatrics, is the branch of medicine concerned with diseases and disorders that affect children. A doctor specialising in this area is known as a paediatrician and will focus on treating diseases that are specific to children, or known to occur more frequently in children, such as chickenpox.
If you could spare any cash to support the amazing work of the Royal Free Charity, I and they would be hugely grateful.
