I’m so excited to be taking part in the London Lamdmark Half Marathon this April with one of my closets friends Rebecca Price, raising funds for University College London Hospitals charity.
UCL is at the centre of international clinical research into a wide range of diseases and conditions. The UCLH charity fund many research trails which translates into new and improved treatments for patients.
The work these guys do is amazing and I was lucky enough to take part in two if their ground breaking clinical research trials for Huntingtons Disease. HD affects me personally as I was diagnosed with HD at the age of 18 after losing my Mum to the illness when I was 10 years old. Being able to raise money for the team who are at the forefront of groundbreaking research trials to find a cure for many diseases and illness such as Huntingtons Disease is an amazing feeling.
I took part in both the HD-YAS 1.0 and 2.0 which was a clinical trial taken place at University College London Hospital. This trial was one of many clinical trials that was conducted to search for a cure for many illnesses, this one being Huntingtons Disease. It was a huge honour to be directly involved in such a pioneering project that will help many people suffering with such illnesses.
