Story
Thankyou for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
In 1999 Joseph Holt celebrated 150 years in business by raising funds for the Christie Hospital and Holt Radium Institute. This resulted in us raising £301,000 to upgrade the Outpatients Department, the entrance to which is now called The Holt Entrance.
In 2010 we will have been brewing on this site for 150 years. We would, therefore, like to celebrate this fact by alunching another major appeal and continue our long association with The Christie, which goes back to 1920 when it was, in part, founded by Sir Edward Holt, the Great Grandfather of our present Chief Executive, Richard Kershaw.
The Christie is proposing to build a new wing at Hope Hospital in Salford in order to make it considerably more convenient for people to receive treatment. This building work will commence in October 2009 and be completed in early 2011. We are, therefore, targeting to raise £250,000 to provide the reception area for this new treatment centre. It will be known as The Joseph Holt Reception Area.
The Company has pledged to raise £250,000 and to this end for every £1 you donate the company will donate £2 through the Company's two Charitable Trusts - The Edward Holt Trust and the Peter Kershaw Trust.
We very much hope you are able to support us in helping to bring the Christie to Salford.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate.
