Story
Hi and thank you very much for visiting my JustGiving page!
Please do take a few minutes to read the information below about where your money will be going.
Before I begin it is very important to note that I CANNOT ACCEPT GIFT AID AND ALL DONATED MONEY COULD BE POTENTIALLY WIPED DUE TO THE INSTITUTE OF FUNDRAISING'S GUIDELINES WHICH DUCK ARE FOLLOWING SO PLEASE UNTICK THE GIFT AID BOX WHEN DONATING – thank you!
First things first – I am going to Palampur, India in August 2014 and I am working alongside a charity called FutureSense which works to ultimately support and improve the lives of local communities in impoverished areas.
Durham University Charities Kommittee (DUCK) has made close connections with the charity and will be sending 15 students including myself to work within a small, dilapidated school to renovate the buildings’ struggling infrastructure to aid our work of educating the children and enriching their lives.
As a Primary Education student I strongly believe in giving each child the best opportunity for learning and it is only with your help and money that I will be able to make a difference to these children’s education and subsequently a positive difference to their futures.
The money I raise will be split into both direct charitable donation and money towards my trip. My target is £2550 and I ask you on the behalf of the children to give generously.
I will be organising a number of events throughout the year to raise awareness of this incredible charity and I’d love to see you there to have a catch up and most importantly to raise as much money for this wonderful cause!
Thank you in advance for any money you donate!
