Story
Welcome!!
I was aiming to complete the last of the 7 summits by mid March 2020 and help celebrate Place2Be's 25th anniversary of doing amazing work within around 300 schools across the UK. However, as we all know, all plans were halted due to Covid-19 along with civil unrest in West Papua where the last of the 7 summits, Carstensz Pyramid, sits. I hope, when possible, to become one of only a handful of British women to complete this challenge out of around 550 climbers worldwide and more importantly taking Place2Be to places they have never been.
With £25,000 previously raised for Place2Be through my climbs on Everest in 2015/2016 and Denali (Alaska) in 2017, I set up 'Jo's Mighty 90' with the aim to raise an additional £90,000 to be split 70/30 with Place2Be and the expedition costs of #6 of the 7, Vinson in Antarctica. I successfully reached the summit of Vinson in December ‘19 and have now fully paid off those expedition costs, partly through this page and partly by myself. This means that 100% of the remaining £60,000 goes directly to Place2Be.
The idea of the Jo's Mighty 90 is to entice 90 companies and individuals to donate £1000 each however it has grown to encompass all donations, no matter how much. A handful of individuals have also run their own campaigns on behalf of the Mighty 90 which you will see below.
The 7 summits banner - for a donation of £30 or more, you can come to the final of the 7, Carstensz Pyramid in Indonesia, from the comfort of your own armchair. Simply pop in your donation, take a selfie on your phone or choose a clear photo and email it to me in a large file size and resolution to jo@jobradshaw.co.uk and I will do the rest.
Thanks so much to everyone who has donated to Jo's Mighty 90 and for being such a big part of this journey with me!
With best wishes, Jo
