As most of you know we are two guys who are always in search of a new challenge and after a period of "will we...won't we...", which had many of you whipped up into a frenzy of excitment, We decided that we couldn't disappoint our fan base. So we put on our running shoes and hit the streets of Newtownabbey and Carrickfergus bringing a fresh and never before seen approach to running that has been described (by those who have seen us) as awkward and painful to watch. We are carrying on the tradition of "Great Glenabbey men" who have risen to the challenge of the Belfast City Marathon, all of whom to date have lived to tell the tale, with some going into more detail that required (We'll mention no names!). Running enthusiasts and pundits throughout the world class the Belfast City Marathon as one of the toughest marathons in the world!! To them we say, "we are taking our approach that we use for all obstacles and challenges faced in life...We're gonna make it look easy!"
So on the 14th January we commenced our marathon training with a 2 mile run...Fast forward a few weeks and we have just completed a 16 1/2 mile run with just under 6 weeks to race day. Morale is high, we are injury free (touch wood!) and most important we still have the drive and determination to complete the 26.2 miles.
Now for the important stuff.. We are not just doing this to boost our egos or physical fitness but we are focused in helping to support an organisation that we have learnt a lot about over the past 12 months...KIDS ALIVE!

They rescue children who are orphaned, abandoned, abused and those who are victims of war, disease and extreme poverty. They restore their dignity and give them hope for the future."
