Story
Hello there,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I'm going to try and run this half marathon with my gangly frame in under two hours for one of my favourite animals.
The Orangutan Foundation is a UK registered charity working to conserve the threatened orangutan and its globally important habitat, the tropical forests of Borneo and Sumatra.
Since its foundation in 1990, the Orangutan Foundation has developed a diverse range of programmes, working with local communities, grassroot NGO’s (non-govt. organizations), local business and regional government, aiming for conservation success and sustainability.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thanks again. I promise to try and run like the wind.
Apologies guys but I'm going to have put back this half marathon for a couple of months. I need to get myself fully run-fit rather than hoof and hobble it and risk serious injury to my patella. The triggering worked - I wasn't laid up; but not for me to go on pummeling the problem. Best to run well rather than be reckless and chance an extreme distance.
In a way it's good because we're still just only halfway over the target for raising money. All the money donated has already gone to the OF and reflects the training I already put in, so all good. Plus this page will be kept open till Spring 2016, so effectively the target will be on hold and become the next one, possibly the Brighton Half or the Lee Valley Half (in negotiations): I give you my word. I will also update once a week - with some OF info - on here and let you know about the next secured event without trying to bore you all too much. Big love and hugs xx
Best wishes
