Story
I have been asked to be the Captain of Keighley Golf Club in 2019.
It’s a great honour for me and as part of the role I have been able to nominate a charity for whom I will raise money for throughout the year. I will be arranging several events as the year unfolds and will use this page as a collection point for all the funds raised!
Bethany’s Smile is a Charity I was first alerted to in 2015 when students I taught at south Craven School selected this as the charity they wanted to raise money for as a year group.
Bethany’s Smile is a local charity that exists with a mission to build a place where families can go and spend quality time together when they are faced with the news of a short life expectancy/terminal illness. The project began after it became evident a place such as this would be a hugely important addition to the care provided in such unfortunate circumstances. Smile Cottage is the name of the project and Bethany and her team are aiming to raise £300,000 to make the dream a reality. In addition to Smile Cottage Bethany’s Smile also support families with other things such as laptops, wheelchairs, desks and chairs for bedrooms so school work can continue at home, roof boxes to allow easier travel when lots of equipment is required on holidays and also special travel insurance. Bethany's Smile is one of very few charities where every penny goes to the cause due to having no staff and no overheads.
I am excited to be supporting this charity and will do my best to help raise as much money as possible. Thanks for taking the time to visit my page and anything you may be able to donate will be most gratefully received!
Thanks
