Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit the 'Over the Hill at Uphill?' JustGiving page. Thirty five years ago members of WSM and Nailsea CID canoed the Axe from source to sea and cycled from Lands End to Weston for military charities. We have decided to recreate the old team with some new members ( to support the cause and to reduce the average age!!) to Abseil 100feet down the sheer rock face of Uphill Quarry to raise funds for the Alzheimer Society. In the last few years we have lost much loved family members and friends to this awful disease. We are a diverse team of thirteen individuals aged 40 to 72 determined to complete the challenge. The abseil team are Dick Oliver (Team manager) Keith Lapham, Ken Blunsdon, Chris Solway, Jon Yabsley, Vic Simpson, Kathryn Sharpe, Sue Miller, Karen Stenner, Paula Bryan Young, Joanna and Jason Thorn, Jon Miller and Ray Stribley. The event will be taking place on 7th May.
We've knocked it off!!!
