Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Kayaking has been a huge passion for most of my life - and one of the few activities that I was able to keep doing competitively after losing three limbs in an IED explosion in 2010. I am always seeking new challenges, whether it's racing in world kayak races, kayaking in big seas or pushing myself to my physical limits in training. Kayaking has been a life saver for me - helping me to find focus and positivity in the face of adversity, and driving me to success, fitness and mental strength every day.
This challenge will be a 100mile paddle in a single seat kayak and will include paddling through the night in the dark, all with just one fully functioning limb.
The RMA - The Royal Marines Charity has been a life saver for me on many levels, too. The charity exists to help the entire Royal Marines family, offering a range of services to serving personnel veterans and their families. For me, the RMA has been there at every step of the way since my injuries - helping to fund my state-of-the-art prosthetics, and supporting me in so many areas of my life: from re-educating me for my coaching work to the many kayaking challenges I have undertaken.
