Story
I’m a little late to the table asking for your sponsorship, having secured a place in The London Marathon 2022 with just shy of 8 weeks to train I wanted to make sure I would be ready for the challenge!
Quite poignant that on 22nd September the construction industry went yellow for Maddies Day.
Maddie was the daughter of a close colleague at Polypipe, who
tragically died in August 2021. I’m asking for you to support my marathon by donating to the charity set up in her memory; The Maddie Rose Campaign which has been set up as a lasting legacy in celebration of her life, an inspirational young woman who was dedicated to showcasing the aspirational careers available in the
sector she cared for so passionately.
This London Marathon will be my final running challenge. I
was an avid runner as a kid, naturally as my career progressed the time to train and my passion for running decreased however my competitive mindset remained. In the run up to my wedding in 2018 I decided to shred some weight. I soon had the bit back in my teeth and have since graced the podiums in Portugal and Finland, at the European (indoor) and World Master’s Athletics Championships.
Balancing a demanding job (and wife!!) combined with a 50 -70 mile a week training schedule along with a young family has been no easy feat. I thank you in advance for supporting my final challenge.
