Story
Last year I was booked to run the marathon with Helen (my wife) and 5 other friends all in support of the Rainbow Centre for Children. Unfortunately I had quite a severe injury to my ankle which meant that I could only be a supporter of the others. They all completed it and ran a fantastic race which was a superb achievement had by all. This time around I am currently still training and hoping to get to the start line on the day.
The Rainbow Centre for Children helped Ian (Helen's brother), her mum and dad; Peter & Sue along with Helen get through what must have been an unbelievably difficult time as Ian was going through cancer at the age of 13. Unfortunately Ian past away at the young age of 15. I never had the privilege of meeting Ian but every person that did has had something great to say about him which usually involves some kind of funny story. Almost 20 years on, I am a dad myself with 2 beautiful children (Erin & Oscar) and I couldn't bear the thought of the pain that you must have to go through seeing your child with cancer. Not only did Peter and Sue lose a son, Helen lost a brother. I lost the brother that I never had and Erin and Oscar lost an uncle. Ian is very much in our hearts and is truly missed.
The Rainbow Centre for Children are there to help, please help them by giving a little.
