Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I've agreed to join one of my colleagues James Rees on part of his immense challenge to cycle from our Aberdeen office to Bristol. I thought I'd join him half way and so Newcastle is that! It's 335 miles or so spread over 4 and a bit days. We're doing it in the week that Bond Pearce and Dickinson Dees merge and so we'll start at Dickinson Dees Newcastle then Leeds before ending at what will be Bond Dickinson Bristol on Friday 3 May.
The Prince's Trust does amazing work to help people who have not had the best start in life, through no fault of their own. It's Bond Pearce's national charity.
They give practical and financial support, developing key workplace skills such as confidence and motivation. They work with 13 to 30-year-olds who have struggled at school, have been in care, are long-term unemployed or have been in trouble with the law.
They have helped more than 700,000 young people since 1976 and support 100 more each working day. More than 3 in 4 young people helped last year moved into work, education or training.
Around 1 in 5 young people in the UK are not in work, education or training. Youth unemployment costs the UK economy £10 million a day in lost productivity, while youth crime costs £1 billion every year.
