For those of you who know me get that sport and fitness are a huge part of my life, and have been since I was a child.

Football, cricket, golf and running have been my staple hobbies, but I’m always up for a challenge, and even more so when it pushes me out of my comfort zone combined with the opportunity to raise some much-welcome funds and awareness for charity.

That’s why I have (foolishly) agreed to upgrade my Raleigh Chopper (yes, I’m that old!) to ride 240km (150 miles) across the picturesque countryside of the Yorkshire Wolds over the weekend of June 9-11.

I’ll be joined by other riders from across the hospitality industry as we take on the 'Pedalling 2 Pubs UK Edition 2023' challenge to raise money for The Licensed Trade Charity and Only a Pavement Away, both charities of which have been fundamental in supporting those in need across the sector during an unprecedented 36 months and beyond, as well as driving social mobility.
