Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As the old joke goes...there was an Irishman, a Scotsman, a Dane, a Geordie, a Scouser, a Manc, two Yorkshiremen and a public school boy on a challenge to cycle the length of Ireland.

Well at least it sounded like a joke when we first thought up this idea but now it feels very real and at the end of June this year a curious amalgam of inbreds will amass at Malin Head the most Southerly point in Ireland and begin the push through the Republic and Northern Ireland to reach Mizen Head in County Donegal some 450 miles later, the most Northerly point in Ireland.

This isn't a supreme group of athletes in training for this year’s Olympics. On the contrary, this is, in the main, a group of overweight middle aged guys with an urge to do something worthwhile before Saga holidays start sending them circulars.

The support you give will help save lives. It's a sad fact that one in three of us will die from cardio vascular disease in the UK and the work of the Heart Foundation is so very important in improving this situation and in supporting those who suffer from heart disease. After a heart attack some of the heart muscle actually dies and will never recover it's function. Three quarters of a million people in the UK are living with damaged hearts and can't live normal lives as their hearts don't pump effectively. The Heart Foundations "Mend a Broken Heart Appeal" can remedy that. Over the course of the next five years they will fund research to literally mend those hearts through ground breaking stem cell research that promises to transform the lives of those living with heart disease and give them back the lives they used to lead. We'd love to help them on their way to achieving this goal.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
