Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I starting running and getting healthy in August 2015, after many years of laziness and following a type 2 diabetes diagnosis. I did an equivalence to couch to 5k in the gym. My running achievements are
First 5k in the gym October 15
First 10k in the gym January 16
First outdoor run May 16
First 5k race Nov 16 in 25.01
First 10k race Feb 17 in 47.28
First half marathon April 17 in 1 HR 43 mins
Wood house Challenge 22k May 17
Prestwold 10k August 17 in 46.30
Leicester ASDA Challenge 10k Sept 17 in 44.48
Leicester Marathon Relay, where my team of 4 from de Montfort University finished 4th.
First 5k Park Run in October 17 in 23 mins
Woollaton 10k in November 17 in 46 mins
I'm aiming to run the Belvoir Challenge Marathon in February 18 and the Round Cambridge marathon in March 18. I've run 22.25 miles in training, so I'm confident I can finish in under 4 hours.
I'm trying to ensure someone benefits from my efforts, and I value the excellent work of the Ear Foundation in supporting the families of profoundly deaf children, and in bringing peer groups together.
As an aside, running has helped me clear the diabetes, and other than aches and pains from long distance running, I've never been better than I am now. I can't believe I have fastest times for 30k, 20 miles and 35k.
Please be generous, this is serious running and not easy, my training runs are now taking over 3 hours 10 mins, the last hour or so can be hard going and painful.
