Not many people are aware that my father recently had a severe stroke whilst living in Tanzania and consequently lost his cognitive functions as well as the ability to speak, walk and be self sufficient in any way possible.
He was flown to Reading Circle Hospital who deal specifically with Stroke victims. I have seen first hand the devastating impact a stroke can have upon a perfectly healthy individual and the care and dedication required by the support teams and specialists to help overcome the long lasting affects a stroke can have upon a person.
Like any charity, support is needed and not everyone is as lucky as my father to have amazing family support but also the best support available in the UK.
This has been the motivation for me to undertake a challenge I have always wanted to do and raise money in the process to assist the victims in any way possible.
Any support is appreciated by myself and I’m positive the charities and the victims.
