Story
A group of us have decided to try and raise a bit of money for a very worthwhile charity by walking the Mourne Seven Peaks.
Cancer Fund for Children is a Northern Ireland charity, which supported over 500 families last year living with cancer. Cancer has a huge physical and emotional impact on not only the patient but also their families. Last year, 2,100 family members used Daisy Lodge for a much needed short break and support from trained personnel.
It takes £2.4 million annually to run the charity and they receive absolutely no money from the Government - they rely on people getting out there to do what they can.
The ‘Mourne Mountain Seven Peaks’ is an 18 mile walk, and typical duration would be 10 to 12 hours. The seven peaks are Slieve Donard 853m , Slieve Commedagh 765m, Slieve Bernagh 739m, Slieve Meelmore 687m, Slieve Meelbeg 708m, Slieve Lamagan 708m and Slieve Binnian 747m.
Any donation however big or small would be most appreciated to help us achieve our £1000 target.
