Hello!

You most likely know this already, but I’m a proud, passionate fundraiser for GLAAD. Once a year, I get the opportunity to ask my personal network to help support our organization, and this year we're hoping you'll donate to help us RECLAIM OUR GROUND and amp up the fight for LGBTQ acceptance as our nation goes through a crucial transition period.

Now I know this year has been rough. And I know there are a lot of worthy causes to donate to as 2020 winds down, but I hope you’ll read my "pitch" below and consider GLAAD to be a cause worthy of your support right now...

You may hear GLAAD, and think of celebrities on red carpets, big news headlines, or perhaps just associate us with the color purple and #SpiritDay,  but GLAAD's culture changing work is much broader than any of those things alone.

GLAAD is a media advocacy organization that works to accelerate acceptance for the LGBTQ community. Day in and day out, our team utilizes our connections within all forms of media, including journalism, entertainment, broadcast news, and social media, to ensure LGBTQ people are represented often, accurately, and in a way that leads to more acceptance of this beautiful and diverse community. 

I know first hand that the work we do is vital to ensure LGBTQ people around the world are treated with the respect, love, and understanding they deserve. I know this because in the nearly 4 years I’ve worked for this organization, my amazing colleagues have helped me grow in ways they probably don’t even realize. 

Yes, I’ve learned what it means to be an advocate for the LGBTQ community. But more importantly they’ve helped me to unlearn some pretty toxic notions and ways of thinking that no longer served me or my community. And thanks to GLAAD I now know those notions were the consequences of harmful LGBTQ media representation in the first place.

And that change in me, is what GLAAD does on a global scale, every single day. 

So I hope you’ll consider donating whatever you're able to this page. And BONUS, GLAAD's Board of Directors has launched a Leadership Fund that will match all contributions to the organization up to $250,000 now through December 31st.
