Story

Loved by staff, visitors and patients alike, John is a well known face at East Cheshire NHS Trust, particularly Macclesfield Hospital.

He can often be found in main reception, on the bench outside the chapel or strolling the corridors  playing a variety of popular tunes on his accordion and raising an astonishing amount of money for the trusts charity.

Sadly John lost his dear wife June earlier this year and with the current pandemic is unable to do what he loves which is play his accordion and talk to the people of Macclesfield.  We are sure people are missing John as much as he is missing everyone!

We met up with John and he expressed how he’d love to be able to do something to help.

So ... John will be raising money for Macclesfield Hospitals ICU department in memory of June, in a unique, socially distant way.

All you need to do is make a small donation and if you want to, add your name and request in your comments.

We will then film John playing your request and post it on our Facebook page - make sure you follow us so that you can see it.
