Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
As many of you will know, Mum lost her 12 year battle with cancer in August 2011. Throughout this battle we saw the advances which are being made by the work of Cancer Research UK and others, many of which we benefited from in terms of treatment which gave us precious extra months with her.
I am hardly unique in having lost someone I love to cancer, I know many friends are fighting the same battles, but I do not believe that it was ever meant to be like that. So I am running the Edinburgh Marathon because I want to contribute to the change I want to see, I am running because I don't want to be scared of cancer anymore, I am running because if Mum were still here, she'd still be running.
Also, specificaly I'm running a marathon because Robyn Trainer said that I couldn't run a marathon.
So... Whether you're motivated by helping to beat cancer, or helping to encourage me in winning a bet (purely for pride) with Robyn:
If you can give, please do!
